Hyemin Kim's Classical Voyage I : Women's Love and Life

The Music House is proud to present the first event of Hyemin Kim’s 2025 Classical Voyage: Intimate musical story telling at the museum: Pianist Hyemin Kim and Soprano Yeseul Choi  Saturday February 22, 2025 at 7:00PM

A versatile performing artist and educator, Dr. Hyemin Kim serves as a Collaborative Piano Faculty at Interlochen Arts Academy and has a wide range of musical careers as a soloist, recitalist, collaborator, chamber musician, and piano instructor. As a featured soloist, Kim has been invited to perform with several orchestras, such as Philharmonische Solisten Bratislava (Mozart Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Austria), Archi Chamber Orchestra (Sungsan Art Hall, South Korea), and Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra (Corson Auditorium, Interlochen, MI). She has also had numerous invitation performances throughout the U.S., Austria and Korea.  Dr. Hyemin Kim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance, as well as her second Doctorate in Collaborative Piano from Michigan State University, fully supported by Graduate Assistantships as a full scholarship recipient; a Master of Music and Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Performance from Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz, Austria; and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Kookmin University, South Korea.

Praised by Opera News for her “shining soprano that skated blithely over the coloratura,” South Korean soprano Dr. Yeseul Choi has captivated audiences around the world with her radiant voice and dynamic performances. Dr. Choi’s illustrious career spans roles in beloved operas such as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Norina in Don Pasquale. Her portrayal of Fire, Princess, and Nightingale in L’enfant et les sortilèges with MSU Opera during the 2021/22 season earned critical acclaim, as did her performance of Marietta’s Lied in the “Beautiful Voice” concert at Fairchild in 2022. Dr. Choi’s artistry extends beyond the opera stage. She has performed as a soloist with distinguished ensembles such as the Yule Orchestra, Sunhwa Arts High School Orchestra, and Guri Symphony Orchestra.
